Q1. I am a complete beginner, is this course for me?

Yes, the PDA only takes on up too 5 pupils on each course which means we can provide one to one tutoring at the level you need, from beginners through to those with basic plumbing knowledge. Our courses are designed for people seeking a career change or to add on to there existing skills.

Q2. There are so many numbers out there please help?

All our courses are ideal for someone looking to change there career and start up there very own plumbing company. we do recommend the City & Guilds 6022-6032 level 1 and the 6129 level 2 to help do this, You do not have to do the level 1 to then be able to do the level 2. If those of you who wish to seek employment after your course we recommend doing the 6129 level 2 as it is looked upon as a higher qualification (although we have had candidates successfully gain employment after there 6022-6032 course). 6129 level 3 is the next step followed by 6089 and NVQs which are both on site assessments. By taking the 6022-6032 and 6129 you are producing a portfolio of evidence that will help you gain your NVQs.

Q3. What if it takes me longer then others to pick up the skills?

It’s not a race. We are fully aware that some candidates work faster then other as they all come from different backgrounds. Depending on what course you have chosen we have a course syllabus that we will stick too, everybody will do exactly the same as each other regardless of speed. If it takes you longer to complete then we have no problem with you coming back for another few days or week to complete the course at no extra cost.

Q4. Am I on my own once I leave the PDA?

No, We will do everything we can to help you build a successful plumbing company by putting you in touch with as many emergency providers as possible. If you are a local company we will also add you to our list of sub contractors passing you work that we have when we are too busy to cover it. We are also only a telephone call away should any advice be needed.

Q5. How much can I earn?

There is no set answer however the institute of plumbing says that the average wage of a self employed plumber is approx. £40k a year. Being your own boss allows you to work as much or as little as you would like, meaning that earnings can far exceed this though
